The Natural Reserve of Zingaro

I Faraglioni e la Tonnara

Scopello’s old tuna fishery (La Tonnara di Scopello) is in a small inlet where clear, blue-green waters meet dramatic and impressive rock stacks called "Faraglioni", a place which attracted many cinema producers. The seabed is rich and interesting - a delight for scuba-divers and snorkelers alike. The "Tonnara" was shut down in the 1980s. Its buildings are no longer used for their original purpose, but you will find a small museum with all the artefacts remained from centuries of tuna fishing activity.

San Vito lo capo

You can not miss San Vito lo capo during your visit in Sicily, a white sandy beach recognized as the best beach in Italy. You can stay in swimwear, t-shirt and flip flops day and night going from a long bath in the crystal water to a walk by the main streets. Don’t forget to try Cous cous and The Caldo freddo. The city also hosts the Cous Cous Fest, an international festival dedicated to this dish.

Erice

The city is located on top of Mount Erice (Mount San Giuliano) at 750m above the sea level: the view from here is absolutely astonishing, since the town overlooks Trapani with its salt pans, the Egadi Islands and the whole western coast heading towards Marsala – as well as Capo San Vito in the east. Castle, church and street have conserved the medieval ancient look. You can choose to enjoy this wonderful panorama even as you approach the city, with the cableway that connects the outskirts of Trapani to the town.

Egadi Islands

Those islands are pure jewels of the sea. Characterised by a mix of rugged coast, sandy beach, caves, cliffs and splendid views all around the island. There you will find thermal resort, water sports and excellent sea food restaurants. Favignana, the main island of the Egadi Islands can be reached from Trapani, a ferry will take you there in less than 30 minute and the tickets can be purchased on the dock at the ticket station.

Scala dei Turchi

This white cliff is located along the stretch of sea between Realmonte and Porto Empedocle (Agrigento) and its rock is made of a soft, limestone and blinding white marl.
